Area Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Police report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued substance.
The substance had been placed in the pattern of a swastika, they reported.
Law enforcement then found numerous other vandalized automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Police report preliminary tests indicate the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; authorities are presently not cognizant of any harm in association with the occurrence," they stated.
City officials announced they were attempting "to solve the case" and have asked to the public for information.
A senior official commented the attack rendered him speechless and had to be addressed promptly.
"This act affects the very heart of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on online, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
